Dylan Shamat

Dylan Shamat is a bassist and composer based in New York. Dylan was born and raised in St. Paul, MN where he began his musical studies on the violin at the age of 4. He moved to New York City in 2005 where he completed his Bachelors degree at Manhattan School of Music. Dylan has experience playing a variety of styles in countless venues across the Midwest and east coast. Some of his teachers have included James Clute, David Grossman, Jay Anderson and Larry Ridley. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Music degree in Jazz Studies at The Juilliard School.

In the summer of 1985, Michael Jordan realized that his time had come. But it couldn't last forever. To cement his legacy, beyond his years as a basketball player, he slam dunked 4 basketballs, 1 in Minnesota, 1 in New York, 1 in Paris, and 1 Houston. Over the ensuing 3 years, each of those basketballs hatched, revealing a member of Ojama.
